Simple, Healthy, Nourishing


Stirring up green smoothies is one of the healthiest and fastest ways to good health and weight loss. One green smoothie each day can actually work wonders for one’s health since they help load on fresh (organic) greens and fruits providing the daily dose of vitamins, minerals and antioxidants. While you can always experiment and figure out your own healthy recipes, a basic thumb rule usually recommended by expert dieticians is to blend about 2 cups of fruit with 3 to 4 cups of fresh veggies.

      
  • Kale and Banana Smoothie: Pour in 3 cups of chopped kale (remove the bigger stems) and 2 medium sized bananas. Add one whole orange and flaxseeds (grounded), blend and you are done. Kale is a rich source of calcium, vitamin A, iron and vitamin C. Bananas are filling besides being rich in potassium, vitamin C and B6. Flaxseeds are a great source of phytoestrogens and healthy fats.

  • Spinach and Green Grapes: A great recipe to start your day, just blend about a cup of grapes with 2 cups of baby spinach. Add chilled water or just about ¼ cup of coconut milk. You can also add fresh green mint leaves to this. Spinach is a great source of calcium, iron and protein. While grapes make up for your portion of anti-oxidations, vitamin C and sugars.

  • Cucumber & Spinach delight:  A great tasting green smoothie, which is also recommended by the Fitness Magazine is healthy smoothies recipes is made by adding 1 cucumber, pear, 1 cup organic baby spinach, about half cup of cilantro, 1 lemon and coconut water. You can also replace cucumber with celery if you like.

  • Tropical Greens: A simple recipe for beginners - just removes the thick stems of kale (about 1 cup), 2 tablespoons of wheat grass powder or wheat grass juice, add one ripe mango and pineapple to this and blend.
